Engineering Deliverables for Chemical, Oil & Gas Projects

For the completion of any Engineering Project, It is very important to exchange information among the different Engineering Disciplines for starting the work simultaneously. The documents or objects used for exchanging information to help progress the project is called deliverables. This article will provide a list of common deliverables from various disciplines of an oil and gas project.

What is a Deliverable?

An engineering deliverable is a document that is prepared by one department and used by another department for the execution of a project. Some deliverables are dependent on other deliverables, so for preparation of dependent deliverables first needs to complete the interconnected deliverables.

Rehan Ahmad Khan

I am a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and have worked in automotive aftermarket industry as a Service Engineer before. But there was a spark in me to do creative work which led me to explore opportunities in design world. So, i left my previous job where I had great experience, and decided to enter the energy industry. Later on, enrolled for the “Post Graduation Diploma in Piping Engineering” and through which I got the skills that were required to meet the gap between the industry and my technical skills. I am still exploring this industry and having a great experience. In the process felt to share my knowledge with the other Piping Engineers and as a result, I am here with you.

  1. Can you also show the sequence of these drawing releases . The inputs required for each drawing preparation .

      1. AOA Rehan Khan
Please share the sequence of engineering deliverable and sequence of the drawings release in Oil and Gas industry.

        Many thanks
        Regards

  2. Thank you very much! this was such a great read!
I have been using drones mainly for structural and renwable energy asset inspections using drones.

The data poins we provide are obtained using RGB and calibrated Radiometric cameras. To name a few of our Standard deliverables among others
    1) heat spike readings
    2) visual anamolies like cracks and soiling
    3) topography maps that can be over laid over as built maps with sub centimeter level accuracy

I would really like to enter the O&G industry and provide solutions that help speed up the traditional deep dive intensive O&M methods for Oil and Gas.

Can you be so kind and provide some of your inputs from your article above that can help me isolate and identify the areas where i can contribute increasing safety and saving tons of time?

I really look forward to hearing from you

    Many thanks and best regards

  3. Respected sir,
    I am student.
I read your article on pressure vessel it is very helpful to know more about pressure vessel designing.
Sir I have doubt, how pressure vessel can be design with different weld efficiency (1, 0.85, 0.7) in Pvelite, Proe, Creo design software?.
Can be pressure vessel design with different weld efficiency?

or we design a single pressure vessel and analysis with different welding efficiency(1,0.85, 0.7) on ansys.

or we design 3 different pressure vessel with different welding efficiency and analyse of 3 different design using ansys.

Please sir clear my doubt I am doing project on pressure vessel and its analysis on welded joint.

  4. Hi, interested in any oportunitie to work in USA.
I am Engineer and I have extensive expierence in Oil & Gas Treatment plants, Production Facilities and Safety and Environment.
    Regards.

  5. Hello, please if possible could you indicate the ISO/API and other requirements to the engineering scope of the procurement engineering docs (data sheets, specifications, technical requisitions). Thanks.
